On the afternoon of June 9, Chen Chunxin, Executive Vice Chairman of Chinese Rowing Association, Wang Yan, Head of Business Development Department, and Liu Yiqun, Director of Jiangsu Water Sports Administration Center visited Suzhou for waters investigation.
Vice Mayor of Suzhou Wang Yang had a meeting with them. Li Bin, Deputy Director of Suzhou Sports Bureau and Han Ding, Secretary-General of Suzhou Sports Federation also attended.
Wang expressed his welcome for the arrival of Chen Chunxin. He indicated that Suzhou Municipal Government attaches great importance to water sports and supports promoting water sports in Suzhou for all citizens. The government will also support local enterprises that contribute to the development of water sportsindustry. All of these will promote the development of water sports in Suzhou and transform Suzhou into a famous international water sports city, he added.
During his stay in Suzhou, Vice President Chen inspected the water resources and the situation of water sports in Suzhou. He learned about the planning of Suzhou Municipal Government on the development of water sports, discussed the possible cooperation intention of water rowing project, and showed his highly recognition of water resources in Suzhou.
The Chinese Rowing Association was set in May 1981. It is one of the individual sports associations under the All-China Sports Federation. Suzhou has convenient transportation system and abundant water resources. Sports development can integrate water sports, people's life and urban brand building. He hoped to provide professional support for the development of Suzhou water sports and fully support Suzhou to build an international water-sport city, Vice President Chen said.
